BHP Certification Overview

This certification program consists of:

1. Blended BHP Training

   • 12 on-demand online modules

   • 7 hours of classroom instruction with a Certified BHP Instructor (staff must complete all 12 online modules in order to be eligible to attend the classroom session).

2. Online Course Evaluation (made available after attending the classroom session).

In order for staff to complete the full certification they must also have the following:

1. Completed Child & Adult CPR / First Aid Certification

2. Completed Annual OSHA Compliant Blood Borne Pathogen Training

Staff are required to obtain Provisional Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Certification (Module 1) within 30 days of hire, and must obtain full BHP Certification (35 hr.) within 1 year of hire.  To be eligible for BHP certification, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
